Kelechi Uleanya
Postdoctoral Research Associate
Kelechi is currently a postdoctoral research associate (PDRA) within the Dessent group, where her research focuses on mass spectrometric and spectroscopic studies of biological and environmental relevant molecules and computational investigation of such molecules.
Kelechi studied pure and industrial chemistry at Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Nigeria and worked as lecturer with the National Open University of Nigeria before undertaking her Ph.D in the Dessent group at the University of York. Kelechi also attained the Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy UK (AFHEA) status during her Ph.D, after successful completion of the York Teaching and Learning Award programme (YLTA). She was appointed as a postdoctoral research associate under the RSC equality and diversity grant to develop a resource to help decolonize the chemistry curriculum in 2021. Kelechi was also awarded and appointed as a postdoctoral research associate under the research enablement grant to Evaluate the Laser Photodissociation Spectroscopy as a Method to Identify Aromaticity and Anti-Aromaticity in Isolated Gas-Phase Molecules in 2022 before taking up her new (PDRA) role in October, 2023.
Kelechi is currently a member of the RSC spectroscopic and dynamic group committee. She is also currently the post graduate equality, diversity and inclusion representative (EDI) in the department of chemistry, a committee where she has served for more than 3 years.
